FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railroad transport. Proposed method consists in using electrodynamic brake and mechanical friction brake of railway vehicle. In braking, control unit sets the sum of braking forces supplied by electrodynamic and mechanical brakes depending upon preset rated magnitude of braking. Then, degree of recovery of braking energy generated by electrodynamic brake and fed into supply circuit is defined via mechanical friction brake force and fed to control unit. Note here that said control unit matches railway vehicle with degree of recovery to prevent damaging the friction brake.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and reliability.
