FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control over welding set comprises consumable electrode. In compliance with this procedure, welding parameters are memorised in memory and stored as, so-called, characteristic curves 1 with the help of, at least, one reference point 2 at said characteristic curve 1. For this, working point 3 is set by means of heat Pw fed to part and welding wire feed rate vd. In matching any of said magnitudes with welding application patter, other magnitude is kept invariable by calculation. Calculation procedure implies that some quantity of matched characteristic curves is combined to form a region 4 thereof to comply with welding process while welding parameters for reference points 2 of characteristic curves 2 of said region are not varied.

EFFECT: higher quality of welding.
