FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes combustion, in an engine, of a diesel fuel composition which contains a nitrogen-containing cleaning additive and a performance enhancing additive. The performance enhancing additive is a product of a Mannich reaction, carried out with: (a) formaldehyde, (b) polyamine and (c) phenol, which can be substituted. The nitrogen-containing cleaning additive is a product of reacting an acylating reagent, derived from a carboxylic acid, and an amine, and pressure in the engine exceeds 1350 bar, which is 1.35×108 Pa.
EFFECT: method improves diesel engine performance, reduces engine power loss and reduces deposits on engine injectors.
