FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to functional diagnostics, and can be applied for determination of individual reserve possibilities of person's cardiovascular system. For this purpose patient's height and weight are measured. After that, area of body surface is obtained by earlier obtained parameters by means of nomograms. Then, area of heart surface is obtained on patient's chest radiograph. After that, skin-heart index (SHI) is calculated as ratio of person's body surface area to area of heart surface. If SHI value is from 70 to 94, heart dimensions are estimated as corresponding to anthropometric parameters of person under examination. If SHI equals 95 or is higher, heart dimensions are estimated as non-corresponding to anthropometric data.
EFFECT: method ensures accurate individual estimation of anatomic and functional state of cardiovascular system in order to determine after that mode of physical exercise and predict risk of heart failure development.
