FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: in an electrode heater comprising a body, inside which there is a hollow cylinder, open at the top end and tightly fixed with its base to the bottom of the body and installed with a gap between its upper end and a cover of the heater body. Heating elements, each made in the form of coaxial cylindrical metal electrodes, are submerged inside the cylinder. Inner electrodes are made as solid with current conductors, and outer electrodes have through holes. The interelectrode space in each element is divided into a row of sections by horizontal waterproof dielectric partitions, and pipes for coolant supply and discharge are arranged in the lower part of the heater body. According to the invention, pipes for supply and discharge of heated coolant from the heater are connected with a pipe, where a valve is installed with a control unit to supply hot coolant for entry into the electrode heater.
EFFECT: electrode heater makes it possible to reduce or increase power consumption by a heater and to increase its reliability and efficiency of operation for coolant heating to required parameters.
