FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises continuous rolling at several stands. Smooth engagement/disengagement of stands for replacement of rolls consists in performing the following jobs in rolling of material 2 at one stand (1") of stands (1, 1"): locally, at a time with disengagement of stand (1") at least one other stand (1, 1') is loaded in compliance with definite loading time interval. Unloading and disengagement and loading of the other stand (1,1') are adjusted to make tolled stock properties unchanged. Peripheral speed (vU") of working rolls (3") of disengaged stand (1") to complete unloading is adjusted to make tolled stock output rate (v") comply with output rate (v"*). After unloading of stand (1") peripheral velocity (vU") of working rolls (3") does comply with preset output rate (v"*) for working rolls (3") of disengaged stand (1") are lifted to stop the stand. To start one stand (1') of stands (1, 1', 1") inverse procedure is initiated.
EFFECT: higher quality.
