FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: electric-insulating structure consists of at least one insulator containing insulating part, which consists of shaft with ribs or without ribs on side surface. Insulating part is connected at both ends to metal mountings, made in the form of flange, for instance, using cured cement sand bonding agent. Side outer surfaces of metal mountings and outer surface of insulation part are covered with water-proof coating with even thickness on various parts of its outer surface equal to 80-800 mcm. Water-proof coating in vulcanised condition is characterised by contact angle, from 60° to 179°, tracking-erosion resistance not less than 500 hours under operating voltage 6-750 kV, and by value of arc resistance not less than 100 mA under impact duration not less than 600 s.

EFFECT: reliability of structure operation at high values of discharge voltage under conditions of various contamination and humidification.
