FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to devices for drug feeders. The drug feeder comprises a body, a drug container, a piston rod and a drive unit. The body has proximal and distal ends. The container is engaged with the body. The piston rod is movable in the distal direction to feed a drug. The drive unit is used to rotate the piston rod in the first direction of rotation and motion, thereby of the piston rod in the distal direction to feed the drug. The piston rod comprises two thread sections. A first thread section is configured for thread engagement with a start-up element, and a second thread section is configured for thread engagement with the drive unit. The treads on the first and second thread sections are opposite to each other. In working condition, the rotation of the start-up element is not acceptable thereby preventing the proximal motion of the piston rod. In start-up condition, the rotation of the start-up element about the body is allowed. The drug feeder is started up by rotating the piston rod and the start-up element in the second direction of rotation and motion of the piston rod in the proximal direction. According to the second embodiment, the feeder comprises a blocker non-rotatable about the body and is engaged with the start-up element in working condition thereby blocking the start-up element and preventing the start-up element from rotating about the body.
EFFECT: invention provides the advantage of easy replacement of a drug cartridge close on under pressureless conditions for a cartridge stopper during starting up of the feeder, and consequently with no pressurisation inside the cartridge before the first start-up and dose measurement.
