FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to drug delivery devices. The device comprises a drive mechanism and a cartridge with a number of drug doses. The drive mechanism comprises a body, a rotation element, a piston rod, a drive element and a shut-off element. The rotation element rotates in the first direction about the body when setting a dose, and in the second direction when delivering a dose. The piston rod moves in the distal direction in relation to the body for dose delivery. The drive element follows the rotation of the rotation element in the second direction when delivering a dose. The shut-off element prevents the rotation of the drive element about the body in the first direction when setting a dose. The rotation of the drive element converts into the rotation of the piston rod about the body. The rotation of the drive element in the second direction converts into the motion of the piston rod in the distal direction in relation to the body by a mechanical interaction of the drive element and the rotation element.
EFFECT: invention provides the improved dosage accuracy and higher reliability.
