FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to electric transmission control of locomotive with self-contained heat engine, traction synchronous generator, traction induction motors and brake resistors in electric braking mode. In compliance with proposed method, rpm is set for heat engine that drives the traction synchronous generator, said traction synchronous generator is excited, rpm of braking traction induction motors is measured, maximum rpm of one of said motors is selected, diesel locomotive brake force is set to compute the product of preset brake force and maximum rpm of one of braking traction induction motors. Obtained result is divided by the number of said motors to get the setting of braking traction induction motor and to measure phase currents of braking traction induction motor. Setting of phase currents is compared to measured phase currents. Result of comparison is amplified to be fed to voltage inverter input. Phase current of braking traction induction motor is adjusted to control is power output.

EFFECT: simplified control, stable operation.
