FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of engine control includes control of gas exchange valve operation. When it is detected that operation of the gas exchange valve is not matched with the condition of connection of the linked cylinder during operation in the mode of reduced working volume of cylinders, in response to correlation of the detected sample of cam shaft tooth position relative to the initial sample for available working conditions of the gas exchange valve, the prohibition is applied for operation in the mode of reduced working volume of cylinders in response to detection of valve operation, which is not matched with the condition of connection of the linked cylinder. The version of engine control performance is disclosed.
EFFECT: improved controllability and reduced noise and vibration.
