FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science, to a diagnostic technique for dirofilariasis by blood examination. The diagnostic technique for dirofilariasis in animals and human involves the blood examination, drying and microscopy. Animal or human blood is mixed with a diluted table vinegar solution at 1:5; table vinegar is dissolved in distilled water at 345 ml of distilled water and 4.75 ml of table vinegar; the mixture is agitated and settled in a dark cool place, and centrifuged. A supernatant is poured out by adding 2-3 drops of methylene blue and centrifuged once again. The supernatant is poured out, while the precipitation is transferred onto a slide; a smear preparation is made, dried, fixed on a burner flame and coloured simultaneously with methylene blue solutions by Loeffler and Ziehl technique. The preparation is viewed under microscope (x1000) with immersion to determine an agent type.
EFFECT: using the declared invention enables accelerating the diagnostic process, reducing the financial expenses and improving the reliability ensured by the detailed identification of the agent.
