SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes a lens, a sensor for detecting an image from the lens, first and second liquid crystal layers with a flat surface between the lens and the sensor which are inserted perpendicular to each other. The first and second liquid crystal layers between the lens and the sensor serve to transmit waves in two orthogonal polarisations. The refraction index of extraordinary waves (p) is adjusted in the first layer.
