SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DATA TRANSFER BETWEEN IMPLANTED DEVICES Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61N1/18 G08C17/00

Abstract RU 2511071 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to a system for data transfer between medical devices implanted into a subject's body using a volume conductivity of electric signals as a medium of communication. One of the implanted devices provides the electric stimulation of tissue. The system comprises two implanted devices, a coding aid using a canal as a transmission medium for stimulation pulses and coding the information in the stimulation pulses, and a decoding aid for the information coded in the stimulation pulses. The first implanted devices has two transfer electrodes transmitting the electric stimulation pulses therein one electrode may represent a general return electrode. The second implanted device has two pick-up coils receiving the transmitted stimulation pulses with the coded information transmitted through the canal. The first device is additionally configured for stimulating and receiving the information continuously in relation to evoked responses to the stimuli of the first device, measured by means of the second device, and sending a request to the second device on measuring the evoked response. The second device is additionally configured to provide the requested stimulation, to send the confirmation back and to transfer the parameters and/or characteristics of the measured signal to the first device.

EFFECT: system provides the reliable and effective communication between the implanted devices.
