FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to designing infrared detectors and a bolometric infrared detector. The detector consists of a diaphragm of surface area S with a heat-sensitive element and an electromagnetic energy absorber attached to a substrate by current-conducting ties. Functions of the heat-sensitive element and the electromagnetic energy absorber are merged in a single element which is made in form of 2N periodic arrays which are mutually perpendicular to each other. The arrays consist of n thin-film monocrystal strips made of Bi1-xSbx (0<x<12), and are n phased antennae with a period L=λ/2. Bolometer parameters satisfy the following relationships: Δλ≤(λ/n+λR0/2Z), τ<20a×b/χ, R0/2Z<0.5, where Δλ is the interval of detected wavelengths at the fundamental wavelength λ, Z=120π ohm is the impedance of free space, χ is the temperature conductivity of the medium directly in contact with the diaphragm, a is the width and b is the length of the strips, R0 is the resistance of the square section of the surface of the strip, τ is the time for achieving steady state under the effect of a rectangular pulse of electromagnetic energy.
EFFECT: faster operation of the device.
