FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of construction, in particular, to the method for removal of icicles from roofs of buildings and a device implementing this method. The device uses a mechanism of destruction, for frequency of action of which they use gravity effect. The mechanism represents a yoke, in which one arm performs the role of a counterbalance, and the second working arm is designed to form and grow icicles. Increase of mass and distance to the centre of mass in process of icicles growth on the working arm is used to rotate the yoke and to further collide the icicles against a fixed obstacle, providing for destruction of icicles. After destruction of icicles and release of the working arm from them, the yoke is rotated under action of a gravity force of the counterbalance arm in the reverse direction and returns to initial position ready for new damage.

EFFECT: improved operating reliability of a roof.
