FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used for welding zone imaging. Proposed invention consists in scanning of tested object cross section perpendicular to welding direction with the help of ultrasound beam and receiving of the signal reflected by tested object at scanning of cross-section. Scanned cross-section image is plotted proceeding from received signal to allow welding zone microstructure. Note here that at wave imaging, wave reflected from welding area microstructure is reinforced. Note also that medium oscillation signal Ra with medium index m from received and digitized oscillatory signal Rb to eliminate received signal variable component. Signal reflected from welding zone microstructure is isolated to amplify the isolated reflected signal only.

EFFECT: precise visualisation of welding zone micro structure.
