FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in the cryogenic generator of a heterodyne for integrated receiving devices in the sub-terahertz range, based on the distributed tunnel junction superconductor-insulator-superconductor, made on a substrate of crystalline insulating material, the back side of the substrate is rough with the size of inhomogeneities comparable with the sound wavelength in the sub-terahertz range in the crystalline substrate.

EFFECT: continuous tuning of the frequency of the cryogenic generator for facilitating phase-lock control to a reference synthesiser at an arbitrary frequency in the entire tuning range.
