FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: downhole gas-sand separator comprises a cylindrical body with inlet openings and a cylindrical tube in the upper part installed in concentric and comprised of a separating unit in the form of a cored screw with a shaped spiral, a spiral channel intercommunicating the inlet openings with cavity of a hollow truncated cone, a vortex chamber in the form of a hollow truncated cone installed in concentric in the lower part of the body below the tube with separating unit, and a settling bowl connected to the body lower part to collect mechanical impurities. At that the shaped spiral of the cored screw is made as a bifilar helix. Outer surface of the shaped bifilar helix has spiral surface of contact with inner cylindrical surface of the body thus forming a bifilar spiral channel intercommunicating the outlet openings with inner cavity of the body above the vortex chamber. The shaped bifilar helix is placed at the cored screw below the outlet openings in the separator body at distance exceeding one outside diameter of the screw. At the cylindrical body above the inlet openings there is an installed sealing component that covers annular space. Moreover geometric dimensions of the spiral channels and vortex chamber are selected on the basis of the well flow rate and flow rate of the used borehole pump.

EFFECT: improvement in operational efficiency of the downhole gas-sand separator and simplification of its design.
