SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication, in particular, to the protection of forwarding nodes for the user equipment wireless connection to a communication network. It is proposed that a device and subscriber authentication is performed at a forwarding node. The authentications of the device and of the user are made so that the forwarding node is allowed to access the network, only if both the device and the user authentication procedures are completed successfully. Also, as a part of the subscriber authentication process, the communication network or the authentication node should check whether the subscriber identifier is associated with the corresponding equipment type.

EFFECT: decrease of a security risk conditioned by the introduction of the forwarding node into the communication network.
