FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: insert comprises body of hard alloy and coating. Insert body hard alloy contains WC in amount of 4.0-7.0 wt % of Co, preferably, 4.5-6.0 wt % of Co, 0.25-0.50 wt % of Cr, preferably, 0.30-0.45, magnitude S making 0.68-0.88, preferably, 0.7-0.8, while coercitivity, Hc, makes 28-38 kA/m, preferably, 30-34 kA/m. 11-24 mcm deep coating is applied on the body by CVD. At least, topmost coating ply represents an α-Al2O3 7-12 mcm deep, preferably, 8-11 mcm deep ply oriented in direction <006> with texture factor TC(006)>2, preferably, >4 and <8. Note here that all texture factors TC(012), TC(110), TC(113), TC(202), TC(024) and TC(116)<1, while TC(104) represents the second utmost TC. Note also that TC(hkl) is defined by the formula:
where I(hkl) is measured reflection intensity (hkl), I0(hkl) is standard intensity as per JCPDS, car No. 46-1212, n is quantity of reflections used in calculation. Note also that used reflections (hkl) comprise (012), (104), (110), (006), (113), (202), (024) and (116). This insert can be used for turning of quenched or tool steels of hardness of 40 HRC to 60 HRC intended for under humid and dry conditions at cutting depth of 0.3-3 mm at speed of 70-250 m/min and feed of 0.1-0.6 mm/rev.
EFFECT: higher resistance to deformation and wear, high ductility.
