FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of organic chemistry, in particular to a method of obtaining 3-aryl-1,5,3-dithiazepanes of general formula where R = H (a), m-CH3 (b), p-CH3 (c), o-OCH3 (d), m-OCH3 (e), p-OCH3 (f), o-NO2 (g), m-NO2 (h), p-NO2 (i), characterised by the fact that N,N-bis(methoxymethyl)-N-arylamine (aryl = phenyl, m- and p-methylphenyl, o-, m- and p-methoxyphenyl, o-, m- and p-nitrophenyl) is subjected to interaction with 1,2-ethanedithiol in the presence of a catalyst CoCl2 in a molar ratio N,N-bis(methoxymethyl)-N-arylamine:1,2-ethanedithiol:CoCl2=10:10:(0.3-0.7) at room (~20°C) temperature and atmospheric pressure in chloroform as a solvent for 60-90 minutes.
EFFECT: elaborated is the method of obtaining derivatives of 3-aryl-1,5,3-dithiazepanes, which can be applied as antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agents, as biologically active complexants, selective sorbents and extractants of precious metals, special reagents for the suppression of bacteria activity in various technical media.
