FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to intravaginal devices for physiologic fluid absorption and retention. An intravaginal tampon has an outer surface comprising an inserted end, a removed end and a central portion formed between the inserted end and the removed end. The tampon has a long axis and made of a pressed material. At least two segmented grooves are formed on the outer surface, and each segmented groove is separated from the neighbouring segmented groove and arranged at a certain distance from it. Each segmented groove has: at least one substantially long segment having a substantially long direction; and at least one collection segment substantially directed circumferentially and crossing at least one long segment at the vertex of the angle; crossing at least one substantially long segment and at least one collection segment when measuring from the vertex forms a step having a visible angle with the visible angle comprising a right angle and acute angles.
EFFECT: reducing side flow and higher absorption properties.
