FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and anaesthesiology, and can be used for the pain management accompanying the progressive keratoconus treatment by cross-linking technique. That is ensured by the pre- and intraoperative anaesthesia by pulmonary administration by a face mask of a preparation of xenon. The anaesthetic regimen is maintained intraoperatively by xenon inhalation every 10 min in an amount to keep a verbal contact to the patient.
EFFECT: method provides the safe cross-linking procedure ensured by the effective pain management combined with the kept verb contact to the patient that makes it possible to control the patient's staring when exposing the cornea to UV light.
