FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. An image encoding apparatus comprises a luminance internal predictor which determines an internal prediction mode of a luminance component from among a plurality of internal prediction modes of a luminance component; and a chrominance internal predictor which determines a chrominance internal prediction mode from prediction modes of chrominance component candidates by determining an internal prediction mode of a chrominance component having minimum costs; wherein the prediction modes of chrominance component candidates includes the determined internal prediction mode of the luminance component; wherein the internal prediction mode of the luminance component includes a specific direction from among a plurality of directions and the specific direction is indicated by one of dx pixels in the horizontal direction and a fixed number of pixels in the vertical direction, and a number dy of pixels in the vertical direction and a fixed number of pixels in the horizontal direction; and wherein the luminance internal predictor determines the number of adjacent pixels to be obtained according to the position of the current pixel and the specific direction indicated by the internal prediction mode of the luminance component, wherein adjacent pixels are located on the left side of the luminance component or the upper side of the luminance component.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding.
