FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: electrode assembly comprises two flat electrodes 1.2, 3.2 and a circular dielectric spacer 2.1 separating them; the electrodes are supported by opposite parts of the spacer. Both electrodes are equipped with ledges 1.2.3, 3.2.3 at the periphery and supported by opposite parts of the spacer 2.1 by these ledges. At that the ledges of one electrode are placed opposite the gaps between the ledges of the other electrode.

EFFECT: improved electric strength of the electrode assembly due to the increase of a spark gap length where breakdown may occur.
