FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic engineering and x-ray equipment, specifically to a source of electrons, intended for use in electronic devices with field emission, and one of such devices - x-ray tube. Source comprises cathode electrode 1 with field emitting part 2 and control electrode 20, transparent for emitted electrons. Characteristic feature of source is that control electrode 20 is made in form of a straight hollow conducting cylinder side wall 3 and two bases 6, 7 with central holes 4, 5. One of bases (6) faces cathode electrode 1 and is located opposite its field emitting part 2. Hole 4 in base has a smaller size compared with hole 5 in other base. X-ray tube comprises a source of electrons and an anode placed in a vacuum case with radiotransparent output window. Characteristic feature of design of tube is above-described design of electron source. Tube can be made so that side wall of said cylinder is part of wall of tube housing.
EFFECT: technical result is prevention of undesired emission from emitting particles of material of field emitting part of cathode electrode, dropping from it and deposited on control electrode, and reduced amount of said particles dropping from control electrode.
