FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydrology and may be used in monitoring, modelling, quantitative assessment of water resources. Substance: river and its inflows on a digital topographic map are broken into squares with size of δ. The number of squares N is calculated, covering the river and its every inflow, for calculation of fractal dimension. Then on the basis of the calculated fractal dimension they calculate the coefficient of convolution of the river bed and river length.
EFFECT: determination of river bed convolution coefficient.
