FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining pyridine and methylpyridines consists in interaction of ethanol, formaldehyde and ammonia in presence of zeolite HBeta in H-form at 200-400°C and volume rate of raw material supply (w), equal 2-10 h-1, mole ratio ethanol:formaldehyde:ammonia constitutes 1.0:0.5-1.1:1-1.5.
EFFECT: obtaining pyridine at lower temperature with high output and low content of heavy compounds, causing formation of coke and fast catalyst deactivation, in reaction products.
