FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: power converter (3) is offered which directly converts the power of multiphase alternating current into the alternating current power. The converter circuit has a set of the first switching elements (311, 313 and 315) which are connected to each phase (R, S or T) of the power of multiphase alternating current to provide switching for actuation of current transfer in two directions, and a set of the second switching elements (312, 314 and 316) which are connected to each phase to provide switching for actuation of current transfer in two directions. The converter circuit contains the input lines (R, S and T) connected to each input terminal, and the output lines (P and N), connected to each output terminal. A part of interconnections (347, 348) of the protection circuit (32) is located between output lines (P, N).

EFFECT: distance of interconnectings between the protection circuit and the switching element can be reduced.
