FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to light sources supplied by microwave radiation. The lamp contains a microwave resonant body (11) made of transparent quartz. The body includes the central channel (16) with a sealed bulb (17) with plasma in it. The bulb is made of quartz and its outer diameter ensures its tight fit in the channel. The bulb is represented as a protruded quartz tube (18); it contains a smooth inner channel (19). End covers (20) are fused with the tube, they seal in the bulb material excited by microwave energy in order to generate light-emitting plasma at delivery of microwaves to the body by an antenna (7) placed in the body channel (21). Dimensions of the body ensure resonance inside faraday's cage in the body (11), bulb (17) and cavity (22) containing filling material inside the bulb. There is an insignificant gap between the bulb and body, at that they may be considered as an integral part for the purpose of resonance generation. The bulb is fixed inside the body by welded seams (23).

EFFECT: reduced power consumption.
