FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to lighting engineering. Transparent gel of microwave plasma light source with transparent waveguide (LWMPLS) contains light-emitting resonator (LER) in form of a crucible (1) out of melted quartz, that contains central cavity (2), inside which the material (3) excited by microwaves is located. In one example the cavity has diameter 4 mm and length 21 mm. LWMPLS operates at power (P) 280 W, and hence with plasma loading P/L 133 W/cm and loading on walls 106 W/cm2.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and service life of the light source.
