FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: after treated with 3% hydrogen peroxide, an autogenous bone is placed into sterile packs and frozen in an air medium at a temperature of -40°C. Before closing the skull cap defect, the autogenous bone is unfrozen in 3% hydrogen peroxide and sterilised in a vacuum chamber with hydrogen peroxide vapours in a biocidal plasma medium at a temperature of -45°C in the STERRAD 50 sterilising apparatus.
EFFECT: method enables restoring anatomical relations after a decompression craniotomy that makes it possible to reconstruct huge skull cap defects.
