FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing chitin and derivatives thereof. Two versions of the method are disclosed. The first version of the method includes reacting chitosan with molecular weight of 3.9 or 30 kDa and 0.005-0.1375% glutamic acid solution while stirring at a rate of 200 rpm for 2 hours and ratio of chitosan to glutamic acid of 1:0.864, followed by adding ethanol and centrifuging. The solid precipitate is filtered and dried in a vacuum drying cabinet at 30°C. In the second version, the reaction of chitosan molecular weight of 3.9 or 30 kDa and 0.005-0.1375% glutamic acid solution is carried out for 2 hours at 70°C with ratio of chitosan to glutamic acid of 1:0.864. At the end of the reaction, the obtained solution is evacuated in a rotary evaporator at temperature of 70-75°C and pressure of 0.8-0.9 atm, and then at the same temperature in a vacuum of 0.5-1 mmHg.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain chitosan glutamate nanoparticles.
