FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel method of producing an antitumour agent - 9-(beta-D-arabinofuranosyl)-6-(Nα-L-serylamido)-2-chloropurine. The method includes obtaining 9-(beta-D-arabinofuranosyl)-6-(Nα-L-serylamido)-2-chloropurine by condensing methyl ether of L-serine with 2,6-dichloro-9-(2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-beta-D-ribofuranosyl)purine, followed by removal of protective groups and trans-arabinosylation of the obtained nucleoside with 1-beta-D-arabinofuranosyluracil in the presence of catalytic amounts of uridine phosphorylase and purine nucleoside phosphorylase.
EFFECT: efficient method of producing a valuable antitumour agent.
