FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: device for protection of suspended insulator having insulating body and end terminals is made as so that it may be connected to elements of electric installations, which lower element has oblong shape; it protects end terminals and/or elements of electric instillations coupled to the insulator from birds and/or their waste products. The device is made of dielectric as a skirt by connection of sectors with their angled ends and fixed with mounting block at the insulator or coupled to the upper end terminal of the insulator at the electric installation element. The skirt is also equipped with an element fixing its orientation in relation to the insulator.
EFFECT: short-circuiting is prevented due to increase in air gap from the earthed part of the insulator or electric installation up to a spot over current-carrying part of the electric installation suspended by the insulator.
