FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: shield for protection of suspended electrical insulator relates to means of protection of equipment elements intended for power transmission, and can be used for protection of suspended garbage insulators against contamination by products of vital activity of birds when they are landing on traverses of power transmission towers. Screen comprises a bird protection element consisting of dielectric material and attachment assembly, wherein the bird protection element is made of two halves, having the shape of a segment of a spherical surface with stiffness ribs and having in plan a semi-circle shape, assembled to form an umbrella, attached to the cylindrical surface of the suspension ring, wherein the attachment unit elements are arranged on each half of the bird protection element and are made in the form of brackets comprising vertical and horizontal flanges located at right angles to each other and equipped with U-shaped edges facing the contact point with the cylindrical surface, which, in connection with each other by means of connecting elements, compressing the cylindrical surface of the suspension ring.

EFFECT: technical result of claimed invention is wider range of protection means of suspended electrical insulator, wherein prevention of turning protection means in abnormal weather conditions.
