FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatuses for protection of elements of equipment intended for electric power transmission, in particular, for protection of electric power lines. The bird protection apparatus constitutes an elongated casing made of a dielectric, configured to provide placement of a part of the wire attachable to the insulator and/or at least a part of the element for attaching the wire to the insulator therein. A hole or cut for placing a cap of the insulator and/or at least part of the element for attaching the wire to the insulator is made in the middle part of the casing. The middle part of the casing therein comprises a protrusion installed near the hole or cut at a distance therefrom, configured to close the side surface of the cap from the outside of the casing.
EFFECT: invention provides protection against short-circuiting of the upper and lower caps of the suspension insulator.
