FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: screen for protection of suspended insulator having insulating body and end terminals is made as so that it may be connected to elements of electric installations, which lower element has oblong shape; it protects end terminals and/or elements of electric instillations coupled to the insulator from birds and/or their waste products. The screen is fixed at insulator or element of the electric installation; it comprises metal base for protection against potential occurrence of corona discharges (e.g., of round, oval, circular, toroidal and/or sectorial shape, and bird guard element fixed at the metal base with protrusion behind contour of the metal base, at that the above element is made using dielectric.
EFFECT: short-circuiting is prevented due to increase in air gap from the earthed part of the insulator or electric installation up to a spot over current-carrying part of the electric installation suspended by the insulator.
