FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to facilities used in computer tomography. An imaging system comprises a fixed gantry, a patient table configured to place an object or subject thereon in the examination zone, and a patient table motion control panel attached to the fixed gentry, and integrating a single multiple-position control element managing horizontal, vertical and diagonal motion of the patient table inside and outside the examination zone. A method for motion control involves the stage of controlling horizontal, vertical and diagonal motion of the patient table by means of the single multiple-position control element provided on the imaging system.
EFFECT: using the invention enables simplifying the control configuration.
