FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: braking device contains a brake rotor, brake pads, that can rotate around the axis of autorotation parallel to the axis of rotation of the brake rotor, supporting elements and pressing devices. Upon pressing of the brake pads to the brake rotor the brake pads rotate around the axis of rotation relatively to the brake rotor, at the same time engaging by means of friction with side surfaces of the brake rotor. The supporting elements press the brake pads in the direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation, and engage with a possibility of friction the external periphery of the brake pads with the cylindrical surface of the brake rotor, respectively. The brake pads autorotate around the axis of autorotation after beginning of pressing, but are set to a quiescent state upon the pressing force increasing.
EFFECT: reduced possibility of the brake moment changes with time, and stable formation of the brake force during a long time period.
