FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and concerns a porous structure for medical implants. The porous structure comprises a set of branches with each branch having: a first end, a second end and a continuous elongated body between the first and second ends; the above body has a thickness and length; and comprises a set of knots with each knot comprising an intersection of one of the ends of the first branch with the body of the second branch; no more than two branches are intersected in each knot. What is also presented is a method for making the porous structure for medical implants.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to manufacture implants having high strength and porosity necessary for cell and tissue in-growth.
