FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: intervertebral disc replacement for the total replacement of a cervical or lumbar intervertebral disc comprises an upper slide pad, a lower slide pad and an intermediate slide pad. The upper slide pad has an upward-projecting anchor structure on its upper surface to fix it in relation to the upper vertebra, and a dish-shaped unit on its lower edged inner surface. The lower slide pad has a downward-projecting anchor structure on its lower surface to fix it in relation to the lower vertebra, and a flat inner surface surrounding a guide groove with flange surfaces and extending backwards with the first support at the back and the second support at the front. The intermediate slide pad is provided between the upper and lower slide pads and has a dome-shaped unit on its upper surface being in contact with the dish-shaped unit on the inner surface of the upper slide pad. The dome-shaped unit is surrounded by an edge and a flat lower slide surface with a guide ridge with side surfaces extending backwards and facing the side surfaces of the guide groove. The guide ridge contacts the guide groove of the lower pad so that the guide ridge slides along a straight line forward and backward in the guide groove. The guide ridge is made of a partially elastic compound so that the guide ridge is elastically deformable. The guide ridge has at least one open slot so that the guide ridge is deformable in compression, whereas the slide area of the dome-shaped unit of the intermediate slide pad and dish-shaped unit of the upper slide pad limits expanding, folding, bending to the right and left, and rotating axially to the right and left.
EFFECT: possibility to adjust the physiological motion forward and backward, and in both side directions, rotation about the vertical body axis in the first slide area and translation motion forward and backward in the second slide area, wherein slipping out from the intermediate slide pad is prevented.
