FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostics, namely to methods to assess technical condition of single-type mechanisms of machines, and can be used, for example, to assess technical condition of vehicle running gear assemblies. Method of diagnostics of technical state of a group of single-type mechanisms of machines consists in measurement of current values of parameters, e.g. heating temperature and vibration of every single-type mechanism of the monitored group working in identical external conditions, assessment of limits of variance of the current values of parameters and their comparison with threshold values, by surplus of which judgement is made about the presence of a defect of separate mechanisms in the group. According to this method there is assigned and introduced as a basic value in every measurement cycle a median of measured values of every measured parameter, there is defined the upper and lower deviations of parameter values from the basic value, there is found a ratio of the span of upper deviations of the parameter to the span of lower deviations of the parameter; this ratio is used as a criterion of serviceability of mechanisms by comparing with the limit one. If this ratio exceeds the limit value, a conclusion is made about the presence of a faulty mechanism in the group of single-type mechanisms. Faulty mechanism in the group is defined by maximum relation of the upper deviation of its parameter coinciding with the span, to the base. Basic index is determined and corrected during every cycle of parameters measurement.
