FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to genetically modified cells for production of fucosylated oligosaccharide, a method for its preparation and a method for producing fucosylated oligosaccharides. Genetically modified cell is prepared by transforming a cell with a fucose kinase coding gene, a fucose-1-phosphate guanylyltransferase coding gene and a fucosyltransferase coding gene. Catabolic pathway for fucose in said cell is inactivated by inactivating one or more genes selected from a group consisting of a fucose-1-phosphate aldolase gene, a fucose isomerase gene and a fuculose kinase gene. Cell is a microorganism selected from a group consisting of genera Escherichia, Klebsiella, Helicobacter, Bacillus, Lactobacillus, Streptococcus, Lactococcus, Pichia, Saccharomyces and Kluyveromyces.
EFFECT: said genetically modified cell is used to obtain by fucosylated oligosaccharides via cultivation thereof under suitable conditions in a medium which includes fucose and an acceptor substrate, wherein acceptor substrate is a mono-, di-, or oligosaccharide or peptide.
