FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: non-spore-forming cell of Bacillus subtilis has been proposed for the production of 2'-fucosyllactose. Sporulation is impaired in this cell as a result of deletion or functional inactivation of one or more genes encoding Spo0A, sigma E and sigma F. Also, this cell contains lactose permease LacY E. coli andα-1,2-fucosyltransferase WbgL of E. coli. The cell is also genetically engineered to express de novo genes from the GDP-fucose biosynthesis pathway, which are the E. coli manA, E. coli manB, E. coli manC, E. coli gmd and E. coli wcaG genes; and wherein the said Bacillus cell does not possess anyβ-galactosidase activity or has reducedβ-galactosidase activity compared to a wild-type Bacillus progenitor cell of the same species as a result of deletion or functional inactivation of gan A. Also the following is proposed: the use of the said Bacillus cell to produce 2'-fucosyllactose and a method of producing 2'-fucosyllactose using the said Bacillus cell.
EFFECT: invention can be used for efficient production of 2'-fucosyllactose.
