FIELD: metallurgy; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation of strength properties of materials and can be used for determination of viscosity breaking metals. Method includes static loading of flat sample with grown fatigue crack and measuring crack length at transition from stable slow development thereof into unstable fast development. Flat sample in series along axis of loading is connected to one power circuit with identical thereto flat sample and measuring length of developed crack in intact sample after destruction of one of samples.
EFFECT: more accurate evaluation of safe damageability of structures.
