FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to soot oxidation catalysts containing metals and oxygen. At that, used metals are bismuth, copper and magnesium, forming bismutite copper CuBi2O4, magnesium cuprate MgCu4O5, magnesium bismutite Bi12MgO19 and magnesium oxide MgO. Invention also relates to method of producing said catalysts, which consists in that specific weight of nitrates of specified elements are mixed in corundum crucible complete dissolution in distilled water solution of partially evaporated, is placed in muffle furnace and calcined at 300 °C for 3 hours; then temperature is increased to 700 °C and annealed for 4 hours, all above operations are performed in air.
EFFECT: reduced emission of toxic compounds from engines.
