FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, particularly to a transgenic aspen plant with following features of high productivity - increased output of biomass, leaves of larger size, increased activity of glutamine synthetase and improved efficiency of nitrogen use, as well as with a modified wood compared to a non-transformed aspen plant containing a nucleic acid which codes glutamine synthetase, as well as to a method for production thereof.
EFFECT: invention provides efficient production of aspen plant with increased productivity, as well as modified wood.
