SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and apparatus for encoding/decoding of images. Disclosed is method of encoding image in order to encode image to generate encoded stream, wherein said method includes: record (S1001) into sequence set of parameters in encoded stream, which should be generated, of first parameter, which is first depth in bits, which is depth in bits of reconstructed samples in images; and record (S1002) into set of sequence parameters, of second parameter, which differs from first parameter and is second depth in bits, which is depth in bits of recess with inner Pulse-Code Modulation (IPCM) in images.

EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding/decoding using adaptive depth in bits.
